Procurement Success Study - Double Whammy!
A global
high-tech manufacturing company was in the middle of an
intensive site construction project, with 3,500 construction
workers and contractors
on site. The
Purchasing Department was directed to solve two urgent
situations: Traffic
and Food Service. These
3,500 people needed to park, get to their worksite quickly...
and eat! Otherwise,
construction productivity would drop, and the critical path
buildout of the manufacturing operation would be in
jeopardy.
Millions
of dollars of revenue potential were on the line for every day
of delay in getting production online.
With a 3-week
deadline looming, they were put in touch with Business
Breakthroughs.
In only 72 hours (over a holiday
weekend), the assigned
Procurement Consultant contacted over a dozen service
providers and identified three prospective providers for each
of the problem
areas. The
consultant matched vendors to requirements, pre-negotiated
prices/terms, identified
the high quality, low cost providers, and coordinated site
assessments, equipment needs and logistics.
In less than two weeks,
their recommendations
were accepted and the problems were solved.
A Transportation Management firm
was selected to start shuttle services with only a 48 hour
notice and a Food Services firm was contracted to setup a
cafeteria operation with a 56-hour turnaround from empty
facility to operating cafeteria!
There was no cost to the client for procurement services.
The cafeteria provider agreed to setup the cafeteria
with no charge to the client .
The transportation service was negotiated with very
flexible terms so that the client was guaranteed of service
quality and could also expand/contract or stop at a moment’s
notice.
Two great procurement
solutions at no cost, no risk, and right on time - another
“Win-Win“ solution for a Business Breakthroughs’ client and the
supplier partners!
Our
clients like it that we solve the problem
quickly, at no risk and usually
at no cost.
